Early Bird Special

Douglas and I are old souls and we've always felt like an old married couple. Our idea of a date night is getting takeout and watching a Netflix movie, we make smoothies in the morning for breakfast, and we constantly talk about "kids these days". I soak my bedtime mouth guard in denture cleaner and Douglas measures the temperature of his coffee with a meat thermometer. Yes, we are that cool.

So we planned to go see a movie Saturday night, you know, to have a real date night. Well, the plans changed as soon as we saw the movie listing times, and our senility reached a new and sad level. We got up as the sun was coming up. Old couple. Got to the theater over a half hour early "to find a good seat". Old couple again. And saw a 10:45am movie. 10:45 in the morning, people! In the theater, it was us, two old men, and one other couple. We couldn't stop laughing and being excited at the same time. After all, we had the theater practically to ourselves with no one to kick the back of our seats, throw popcorn, or block our view with their gargantuan head. The morning show was so great that as soon as we left the theater, we a) decided that we would go to an early movie once a month and b) went home and took a nap.

Senior citizens over age 25 get a discount...right?! Bring on the early bird special!
