This week, one of my favorite co-workers, Theo, asked me to make a cake for her son's birthday. She was so sweet and let me do whatever cake my heart desired! Knowing that her son likes card games, I thought I would do a poker themed cake. Everything on the cake is edible and handmade. No cardboard playing cards or plastic poker chips for me!!!

This is absolutely incredible!!
Awesome Nicole!! Did you use fondant for the cards and the chips? That is a brilliant idea! Looks like a lot of work!
Thanks guys! Steph, yes I used fondant for both the chips, diamonds on the side, and the cards. Once the fondant was the color I wanted, I cut it out and "painted" it with water to get a shine. Then I hand painted the details with edible dye. It took FOREVER! But I really like to have all pieces of my cakes edible, if possible, so it was worth the work!
